NO OFF-SEASON: Be Bold - Be Strong

Many of you may have seen posted on our Facebook and Instagram pages on 9/11 our Flag at Half-mast and two of our Town of Scarborough Firefighters on the stair-climber wearing their full firefighting gear and carrying a U.S. Flag on their back in memory of 9/11 heroes, and in support of the victims and families.  The caption read, NO OFF-SEASON.  We are sure this picture provided many of us individual thoughts and memories and a renewed emphasis on continuously challenging ourselves while working out, yes, but more importantly, in this case, the need for us to work, interact, train and support each other as a community.   Good stuff FIREFIGHTERS and thank you!

 

For this update, we wanted to communicate with you on WHAT’S UP AT FOLEY’S.  To start, we would be remiss if we did not thank those that have returned to the gym and restarted a fitness and nutrition regimen. We tell everyone how motivated and goal-oriented our Members are. It is so rewarding to have built this gym and hired this staff to support you and watch you BRING IT every visit.

COVID-19 Precautions. We know that the unknowns of COVID-19 remain on our mind throughout our days and nights. However, we feel our in-place protocols, our diligent and committed staff and the full and active support of our members are all assisting us in being ever vigilant and adhering to best practices. We cannot thank everyone enough for contributing to this TEAM EFFORT and balancing required proactive health and safety actions and fitness improvement outcomes. **** We are now leaning into the Fall and soon it will be Winter. Please remain mindful and continuously practicing social distancing, especially as more members return to the gym (from outdoor, summer activities).

INVESTING IN SAFETY for our Members AND Staff.

Foley’s continues to invest in proven technology for combating a wide range of micro-organisms. You will recall from a previous update that we affixed “NANOSEPTIC® CONTINUOUSLY SELF-CLEANING SKINS to our entrance/exit doors, water fountains and other high-touch points. In fact, we just replaced those with fresh skins.  NOW, we introduce into our cleaning regimen the use of an ELECTROSTATIC DISINFECTANT SPRAYER. Electrostatic sprayers are now a patented technology and quickly and efficiently disinfects and sanitizes surfaces and they come strongly recommended for gyms.  We will continue to be proactive in protecting our Members, Staff --- our extended Fitness Community Family. 

VERY IMPORTANT PROTOCOL REMINDERS: 

 **PLEASE --> MUST DOs/DO NOTs @ Foley’s.   

 Members are asked to use only one piece of equipment at a time (i.e., no circuits and no “super setting”) so that machines are cleaned after each use. 

ALSO: PLEASE ---> NO CHALK.   

 Without exception, please sanitize all equipment (cardio, handles, bars, plates, bands, mats, etc)…immediately after use. Close-contact activities are not allowed (e.g. weight-lifting activities that require “SPOTTERS” --à If necessary, for safety (heavy weight purposes), MASKS ARE REQUIRED.  

 NET-NET: All staff, vendors, and patrons are required to wear a face covering where SIX FEET physical distancing is difficult to maintain, per CDC recommendations and pertinent Executive Orders from the Office of the Governor.   

 NOTE: Mike and Joe have asked Our Staff to monitor the above and approach those not in adherence. Please treat them with the same courtesy with which they approach you. It is in the best interest of all of us (including keeping the gym open), to be strong proponents of these requirements.   

 POLICY UPDATE. SPIN and other scheduled CLASS sizes will get reduced in participant availability as we are forced to move them inside. We will be as creative (but safe) as we can to accommodate the more highly desired and attended SPIN and CLASSES throughout the Winter months. **Note: We have established a LATE CANCELLATION POLICY (communicated to all members that subscribe to our email via our Gym Operating System (MINDBODY), which is now in effect. ($10 Late Cancellation Fee, if not cancelled at least two (2) hours before SPIN/CLASS). This policy is for the benefit of Instructors, Members and Non-Members. 

APPAREL

UNDER ARMOUR IS IN THE HOUSE! You will notice on our clothing racks that we have ADDED to the already “cool” Foley’s swag (from our local business, My Custom Swag) inventory with apparel and accessories from Under Armour (UA). Our second shipment from UA, with a good selection for both women and men, will be received this week. Please check out our apparel and accessories in our gym lobby. To note, you are welcome to purchase your swag with the credit card that is already active and on file with us.
